What makes Bobby J's the best??

"In an area that has a burger joint on almost every corner, coming up with a new concept or a 'better burger' seems impossible. This challenge was taken on by Bob Sfalos in 2000 when he had a vision of his own burger joint.

'I was in real eastate for 30 years and owned this property the restaurant is in now. I leased it out to several people using it for restaurant space, and no one made it out here, ' Sfalos said. 'Finally, one day, I told my wife I was going to open a hamburger joint here. Her reply was, "Are you crazy?"' And the begining of Bobby J's Old Fashion Hamburgers was born.

The process began to make the best burger. Sfalos and his wife ate in every burger joint around. They narrowed their favorites down to three and then started coming up with ways to improve on those burgers.

Sfalos boasts about his different style of burger. When asked by customers what seasonings he puts on the delectable fare, he simply replies, 'salt and pepper.' He claims the great taste comes from the way he and his staff prepare the burgers, and that this technique is what sets them apart from the competition's offerings.

'The way we prepare the burgers is a secret, just like my chili, a secret,' Sfalos said. Now that dish really is a secret, and not even his employees know exactly what magical mix of ingredients goes into Bobby J's Chili. In fact, Sfalos comes in early in the morning while no one is around to mix his famous concoction. It's a spicy, true Texas chili.

Along with the food, Bobby J's offers a relaxing and nice setting to enjoy your meal with front and back outdoor seating as well as plenty of room inside. The outdoor pavilion is large enough for gatherings and boasts a great view of the Texas Hill Country. There are three seating areas inside, one a new addition Sfalos himself constructed. The decor is welcoming, with old license plates hanging on the wall, country pictures, old fashioned washboards, metal ceilings and cozy tables.

'I want to make everyone feel like they are at home eating a meal. I want a customer's experience to be a pleasant one with an old country feeling place and friendly service, ' Sfalos said."

On the lighter side, the menu includes four different styles of chicken breast sandwiches, along with fish, shrimp and crab patties. All come topped with fresh ingredients and are made to order... For the taste of something different, experience the fried hot dog, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, or the garden veggie or Boca burger, with fresh crisp toppings. If you want to buckle down and have the specialty of the house, you have many choices. With basic burgers on the menu, be adventurous and try a Western Burger, a Chili Burger, Fiesta Burger or the Jalapeno Cheddar Burger. For milder taste buds, sink your teeth into a mushroom burger, green chili burger, or guacamole burger. Ready for a side item? Try the fresh-cut homemade french fries, fried dill pickles or hot 'n' spicy fried jalapenos, to name a few. Although most of these are fried, the food doesn't leave grease all over your hands and napkins."
