The restaurant and patio are built under a canopy of huge Texas Oaks that beckons you to enjoy the night. Tables are candlelit and the native rock walls and pine-wood floor "creaks" of romance. The adjacent meadow home of the historic Treaty Tree abounds with deer most evenings. Owner Lou Baeten, together with our knowledgable staff, has maintained many of the traditional dishes while adding new "favorites" --such as the buttermilk-marinated fried Texas Oysters and the chorizo-stuffed Bandera Quail. Organic herbs from our garden are used whenever possible. The kitchen is lead by head chef Lionel Blache and his innovative Southern US style cuisine.

The Grey Moss Inn Restaurant, in addition to a full-service bar has one of the state's most extensive wine lists. Wines from California,Oregon,Washington State, France, Italy and Spain are joined by "newcomers" from Chile, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Of course, Texas wines are also present. The "Inn" has an extensive wines-by-the glass program and has many small bottles (.375) to choose from. Some groups have selected our "wines from around the world" option for their special dinner. Wines are personally selected by Owner/Wine Enthusiast Lou Baeten from different countries and regions and each is matched with appetizer and entree selections. A brief informational talk is given regarding each wine.

Most menu items are grilled over mesquite charcoal on our outdoor circular-stone grill. This captures your attention when you enter our patio. Patio dining is available --weather permitting-- while winter dining is available near one of our indoor dining room fireplaces.

Dress is casual.
