10/19/2011 - Professional Bartending School of San Antonio

Professional Bartending School of San Antonio has been training and placing San Antonio's best bartenders since 1997.  A little history on our school; our original location was on the northeast side, Austin Highway and Perrin-Beitel.  In 2007 we moved our current location on Cherry Ridge across from Embassy Suites.  My father, Larry Stratton, purchased the school in 1999.  As with many businesses, the schools previous owners had no clue how to run a successful school.  Larry's 40 years of bartending experience would be extremely useful in the coming years.  I, Rachel Burdett, came on board in 2000.  My father and I have had successful businesses together in the past and we were ready for the next challenge.

I had just recently moved from Houston, where I was bartending at Carrabba's.  We immediately started making changes to the school.  The school was cleaned and remodeled.  We also added to the existing textbook, as it was only 45 pages???  I mean come on...students are paying good money to learn to bartend!  

In 2005 we were approached by Professional Bartending Schools of America.  PBSA is the nation's largest,  premier group of state licensed bartending schools.  If its happening in the industry PBSA knows about it.  As a result of our meeting we changed the name of our school to Professional Bartending School of San Antonio(old name Texas School of B@!#$*%!@#).  We also immediately became full pledged members.  PBSA has a copyrighted textbook, as well as, great job placement assistance programs.  After all, isn't that why you attend school...to get the greatest amount of knowledge, and get a great job??  We think so.

Since 2005 Professional Bartending School of San Antonio has been growing by leaps and bounds.  In 2010 we wrote our own textbook.  I like to keep them updated when new products come out.  San Antonio bartending school has also been forming very strong partnerships with various organizations in the local community: San Antonio Restaurant Association, Aloha Point of Sale Systems, Glazer Distributing, Republic Distributing, Iron Bartender Live, and SanAntonioNight.com to name a few.  

We have recently added touch screen cash registers to our school.
